Thumbs down Got a CEL last night

My car was doing fine until i got on the gas and when it reached 5500 rpm it bogged down and started running like s**t. I dont know what limp mode feels like but thats what i would say it is. My car sputters and shakes when i drive it know. I got chipped a couple of months ago. APR flash 93 octane, (couldnt tell much difference?) I need a Boost gauge! I did replace my DV (forge007). Im going to get the CEL read and i will come back with a code.
I got a 2001 180fwd.

You had misfires. Make sure your plugs are gapped down to .028 with a chip

Ok, just got back from auto store and the CEL was: random misfire in 1 & 2. I did change my plugs to NGK BKR7E .028 gap when i got chipped. My boots are coming up off of my plugs maybe a 1/2". I pushed them back down and it still doesnt run right. I am going to pull my plugs and see what they look like now.

them not being torqued right will cause the coil packs to lift and that can cause the misfire.

Question

I checked my sparkplugs, they are fine. They're maybe a month old. I torqed them down to 20 lbs. The coil packs are not coming up any more, but its still running like crap. Do i need to get the code cleared before it starts running right? Or unplug the battery over night and let the engine reset?

Get the code scanned and it will tell you what threw it. Then you can just reset the ecu by unplugging it for ~10mins

Try swapping coilpacks 1 and 2 with 3 and 4's coilpacks. If the codes show up on 3 and 4 then you'll know the coilpacks are to blame.

Classic coil pack failure symptoms. My TT and my buddies 337 had exact same symptoms and we both needed coil packs
