got MPG?
What's the highest average MPG you guys have gotten on a decently long trip? Let's say 50 miles at least.
Lately I've been driving on a stretch of highway that has some 55 zones in it...and I've been consistently getting almost 40mpg. I got 39.8 on one trip. My trips are about 70 miles and I use 93 octane gas on stock programming. I'm not a conservative driver, when I need to accelerate on the highway or onto the highway, I floor whichever gear is appropriate.
My usual average for a 50 mile round trip on highway on a different, entirely 65 zone stretch was about 33mpg.
39mpg vs 33mpg works out to .077 cents per mile versus .091 cents per mile. That works out to about a $5.60 difference every four hundred miles. Enough to make you go another 50 miles!
That's one reason I like our little 4 cylinders. Very practical engines.
