Got Towed
The faschists at my school had my car towed the other nigth for unpaid parking fines. I leave the car in second when i park, and they assured me they only use flatbeds. Anything i should be worried about in regards to the car being towed while in gear?
Ditto, its a 40k dollar car they are messing with, if was my grandmas accord I wouldnt really care too much, but my TT, hell no I pay my sh**! And yes, I would be worried, they really dont care about the car they are towing, trust me I used to work for a tow truck company before I joined the army, its all about the $$$ that they make a few scraches they just state that "they were already there" and good luck trying to prove that they wernt, even on a brand new vehicle. Moral of the story dont give people a reason to mess with you, it will only cause more stress. Good luck
I agree with you guys, It's just hard with the school cause they try to f*** u any way they can. I got the car back and theres no scratches (except the one i put on it coming home - icy roads). What I was asking about was - could there be any kind of mechanical damage now because it got towed while in gear?
is the campus private property?? then they have no right to interfere with your car and they have broken the law and can be done for theft and any damage to your car plus any costs, not sure how your system works over there but here it would be classed as private land so not bound by street laws
I'm sure it was the school itself that towed the car, rather than the local constabulary. Most campuses have parking regulations and a private security/parking enforcement that write tickets for parking on campus without the proper pass or for parking in a spot your pass didn't give you authorization to do.
When I was in school years ago, there were always more cars on campus than space available, so you'd gamble on a ticket to park "illegally".

never had a car when I was a school ( too young ) and when I left school it was straight into work so im guessing your talking about college type thing as its called here if so they are still regulated by law not to damage your car regardless of how they move it ( unless its on fire and a hazard )
