Default haldex install question.

Does anyone know what I should expect to pay to have the blue Haldex controller installed? Does anyone have a link to a good DIY, I may try to do it myself if I find some time.

Thanks

sorryI can't give you a link, but I've seen a lot of discussion on Vortex and Fourtitude about the controllers. Maybe you'll have luck there? Hope this helps.

it's pretty easy. I did it as a total newbie and took me about 3 hours.

Grooby, did you have to do anything with fluids?

I replace the haldex fluid afterward. When I bought my car, the haldex control unit was busted so I was forced to replace it. However, the car only has 32K miles on it so I did not bother replacing the fluid until afterward. The fluid is easy too but make sure you get the kit from one of these online audi stores. It comes with a special wrench.

Haldex is an OEM supplier of all-wheel-drive components for VW/ Audi, as well as other fine auto manufacturers, and is now offering upgrades for VW/Audi AWD systems. The Haldex Units greatly improve the performance and handling of your R32 and are a total replacement of the mechanical and electronic controller that directly affects how the rear-wheel-drive portion of your AWD system works and how aggresively it reacts under acceleration, cornering, and braking. By re-tuning your R32's AWD system, power is more aggressively directed to the rear wheels under a wide variety of driving conditions. The results are more neutral handling characteristics and better off the line acceleration. The Haldex units do not intefere with ABS or traction control systems. The Haldex Units are simple plug-n-play applications and require no modifications for fitment. All kits consist of a new electronically controlled valve body, all gaskets, and necessary hardware.
