Default Have you ever had a dream about your car?

Well I did!
It went a little something like this....

My car was in the shop getting it's timing belt changed (which was suppose to happen on Monday but they didn't have time and my car sat there all day [:@] )

Anyway in my dream the mechanics were working on taking everything apart to get to the timing belt, and my car was up on a lift.
I saw 3 guys actually working and one was just kinda standing around supervising.... One of the mechanics removed a part and my whole engine fell right out of my car!
At this point I was just walking back into the service department and I heard the crash and saw my engine laying on the floor in a million pieces! I remember screaming my lungs out at their incompetency and crying hysterically while feeling my blood starting to boil because they broke my baby!

Then I woke up with tears in my eyes, jumped out of bed, ran outside and made sure that my car started!
And it did... thank god it was just a dream!
It felt so real! I feel bad for the person/persons that ever mess with my baby... My Italian and German will come out rather quickly!

So has anyone else ever had a dream about their car? Please share!

I had a dream about jumping a curb on an onramp right by my house and rolling the car into an embankment, once.

Its wierd that corner is so much fun to carve but since that dream Ive been very careful on that corner.

My better half told me while I woke up that the porshe was in the garage and perfectly safe. Accordingly I went right back to bed with peice of mind knowing it was safe.

To bad I dont have one to steal. [&o]

Great topic. Funny you should post it now. My car went to the dealer Wednesday night to get the timing belt replaced yesterday and today. I've had nightmares about it both Wednesday night and last night. Keep in mind I'm only 2 weeks into my TT ownership. I fell hard for this car. I can't wait to get it back, my rental is a Chevy Cobalt which is TERRIBLE!

The work done to my car was:

Timing Belt Change (incl tensioners, waterpump, etc..)
Drive Belt Change
Oil Change
D/S Parking light replaced.

Total: $1676.

Ugh. Although the good news was that I bought mine from an Indepedent dealer and the car hasn't been to a dealer since 2004 and the only thing they saw wrong was the drive belt. I was happy I didn't get a laundry list of things that needed fixed.

HOLYCRAP thats expensive.

My timing belt with labor at the shop is going to cost me only $600.

Oil change (Do yourself, $60 full synthetic/filter)

WOW.

Bulbs are easy...

bewatchful of things before you spend that kinda money....thats so freaking much money [:-]

Parts on the invoice were 600. 1000 for the labor.

But wouldn't you know my bad luck. I just pulled out of the dealer and went 3 blocks. Today is a day where it just started to drizzle and the roads are real slick. I slid (5mph MAX) right into the back of a Lincoln Aviator. Took the hit on the P/S. The headlight is fine (working) but the mounts snapped (made of plastic) and it is floating in the headlight "hole." That is the only damage. How much is a new headlight unit (anyone have experience with this?) or what is an easy fix to get it connected?

UGH, JUST TERRIBLE!!

ps. the lincoln aviator is fine too. no damage at all.

Insurance quoted me a new headlight assy 3 weeks ago. $950 You can find them used on ebay with a buy it now of $500.

I'd love to help a fellow TT'er out, but I need to sell that brand new P/S assy for as much as I can, because I'm going to buy 2 euro spec head lights from ebay.de, and if i have money left, euro tails too.
