Default Help! Big black scrape on back bumper!

So roughly an hour ago I was backing out of a parking spot and didn't see this car coming behind me in my blindspot until it was too late. I quick hit the brakes but I wasn't in time. Their bumper hit mine and left a big black scrape, maybe in a 3"x4" area. Nothing cracked or broke, but the mark is big and ugly. Same as the driver. I know it was my fault, but I'm pissed at the driver for not stopping sooner or trying to swerve. Grrr!

Now that I've explained the situation, does anybody have any ideas on what I can do to remove or minimize the marks? Any products to get or special household remedies? I'd like to do this without repainting the bumper. Thanks!

I bet your car feels faster now that it's got some black painton it.

Go vote for black in the poll thread if you feel faster.

lol, no it feels slower since it's tarnished Red's the faster color. I'm trying to post a pic of the damage, hope this works.

wash, dry, clay bar, wash, dry, possibly clay bar again, polish, sealant, wax

As for products ask in the detailing section. There is a thread there to ask a professional detailer, and you get 10% off the products on their website just for belonging to AF.

Clay bar wont fix all that. Im a painter. Your best bet is to take it to a local body shop and ask them to wetsand and rub the area out. Should charge you no more than 25 bucks.
If you live in michigan I will do it for free.

That needs a little wet sand and compound on a wheel with some polish afterwards and a good wax job should take most of it out.

Hey, thanks everyone. I got some rubbing compound and it helped a little, but not great. I'll see if I can find a body shop nearby and get it wetsanded. I live in Seattle, Jays TT, otherwise I'd totally be calling you. Thanks again
