haha..yeah i can't make up my mind about this...i'm also looking at a 2003 infiniti g35 coupe, 2004 mazda rx-8, 2007 hyundai tiburon, or 2007 ford mustang...what do you guys think about those?

in my opinion they aren't anywhere close to the audi in looks, but idk..you guys know of any other good cars, mainly coupes?

 

I would consider the g35 the other cars especially the rx-8 I wouldn't want. I like mustangs but only in a v8. Look at an Honda s2000 those are nice quick and reliable. How much are you looking to spend? This may sound dickish but don't take it the wrong way but there's nothing I hate more than when a parents buy a car for their kid and they go around bragging about how cool they are because they have it.

 

i'm definitely not planning on bragging, no matter what car i end up with..and my budget is around 12k...and i personally don't like the s2000, plus for where i live it wouldn't be a good car.

 

OK thank you. Well knowing your budget helps a lot to I used be in auto sales. Stay away from the lots that have cheap cars and then you see like 2 Audi's and a BMW there they are there for a reason. Also if you see a car and the average price is between lets say 10 to 12 grand and you find one for like 6 grand stay away it's usually that cheap for a reason. If I were in your shoes I would get an S4 might be cheaper insurance too due to it being a 4 door then put some rs4 k04 turbos on it and have fun. Look at an m3 too. Just be careful of you get a euro car like an m3 or TT etc there 40 to 50k cars when new your paying to maintain a 40 to 50k car not a 12k car it's going to be expensive.

It depends really the older ones had more problems such as instrument cluster the coil packs the electrical accessories. It is an interference engine so the timing belt needs to be changed at intervals or it can snap and then your in big trouble. The haldex need to be serviced every 20k and a new haldex filter every 40k. As the car gets older the wiring under the hood and the hoses/tubing can dry out and break and cause issues and that can cost lots of money to figure out. The clutches are very pricey. Not trying to scare you off but just because someone can afford to buy the car doesn't always mean they can afford to repair and insure it. That goes for everyone not just teens.

 

If you have your heart set on a tt do your research and make sure it's what you want don't settle for anything less. There are plenty out there so it may take a while to find the right one. When you do give it one hell of a once over if there is anything wrong address it will the dealer/seller.
