Default HELP WITH NEW RIMS

Hey guys,

I've got a problem

I've ordered a ABT body kit for my 1.8t audi tt (2006), along with 19" ABT Wheels.

now, the thing is, when ordering the wheels, i had thought that the standard wheel sizeon the tt were 17", but only 2day didi find out that the exact dimensions on my tt tyres are 205/55/R16!!

The guy from ABT said i didnt have to do anything to the suspension or anything else, and fitting in 19" wouldnt b a problem...

what do you lot think?? 16" to 19"...reckon it'll be ok? oh and im thinking of addingABT spacers at back and front aswell, so the car is made to look wider...good idea?

also, im trying to find 19" continental tyres for my tt....does anyone know the exact dimensions i need to be looking for??

i was told 235/35/ZR19....??

HELPP!!!!!

thanks in advance guys

cs

^ rofl. stop freakin out dude. 19"s are straight. don't worry about it. cept it'll feel alot heaver compared to your 16"s. you'll need to find out the offset and the width of the rims to find out the correct spacer size to make it flush to your fender. don't forget you'll need wheel bolts correlating to the size of your spacer

mmm abt, i want abt front lip. and dont go fck around with continental, just because theyre made in germany doesn't mean their hot sht. there's alot of tires that are alot cheaper and ALOT better.

I'm sitting on 18's & still have no clue why anyone would want 19's. My ride is bumpy enough.

cheers 4 ur input guys.

yeah i'd like to have 19" but maybe 18" will be safer...im not planning on lowering the suspension, soi reckon 18" will do. i still dont understand why some ppl reckon the rides bumpy with 18/19" when others say that theres not much difference!

either way, i'll def put pics up once the kits installed.

tke it ez.

I just went from my 19s (on the car when I bought it) to my 16" winter wheels. I must admit, it's kind of nice to have a softer ride for a change instead of those rubber bands that go for tires on the 19s and the car actually feels faster now given the smaller rotating mass (or whatever it's called).

If I were going to buy them myself, there's no way I'd get 19s. Too heavy, tires are too loud (could just be the ones I have) and far too harsh of a ride. Stick with the 18s.
