hesitation under full boost, PLEASE HELP!!!
I have an 01 audi tt 225 and the car runs and drives fine ,but it hesitates under full boost. I had a similiar problem before, but it was the coil pack. I've replaced the coil pack because one was bad to see if that was the problem and still nothing. The only code im getting is the MAF signal too high g70. Could it be my DV? I have a forge 007, if anyone has any input that would be great. Thanks.
Nobody is answering because it could be a lot of things. Mine was doing this recently and it was due to loose coil packs. The screws had backed out a little bit and I guess it wasn't making good contact. I guess at 23psi you need a good connection. I almost bought a manual boost controller so I could take it down to 20psi and avoid the problem instead of playing the replace components game.
Yeah, when I finaly replaced all of my coil packs I did the spark plugs as well. It's a good idea since your spark/fuel was out of sorts. As you probably know, thse coil packs are total garbage and fail even when new. In your case, I would start there. I'm not sure how many miles you have on your MAF, but these things run DIRTY. So a dirty MAF could be the reason for your cel. When I replaced mine(68k miles) it made a night and day difference. If your chipped, you could be collapsing your tip at higher boost. Or you might have a boost leak only present at higher psi.
Tightening my coil packs didn't fix the problem, it's really dependent on the temp outside so I thought it was gone. I order a spring type MBC to limit my boost to 20psi. My revo chip spikes to 25psi sometimes. That should fix it.
This is the same problem that I've been having. Only when i slam on the gas (high boost/high load) does my car make a funny noise. I have to video tape this to figure it out. I can't race or accelerate to fast. It started happening after I installed the diode, mBC, and forge 007. So I don't think it's the coilpacks. And changing the spark plugs didn't help.
i have a 2001 audi tt quattro with 102k miles. Its chipped, but the chip has never been a problem. In the middle of driving my check engine light came on and if I gave it alot of gas or floored it, it stutters and i dont get full boost. Are the coils and spark plugs the most likely problem? I havent changed the spark plugs in two years.
