whenever i take a hard left turn, i hear and feel a clatter in my footwell (left).
Any idea on what this could be? strut? wheel bearing? tie rod?

loose lug bolts, bad CV... what exactly is a 'clatter'?

Bad cvc +2, mine did the same thing but passenger side, look under for a busted boot and grease everywhere. Best to get it replaced asap before it either locks up or breaks.

 

It kinda sounds like if you take a plastic ruler and hold half of it over a table edge and then flick it, but deeper.

checked the boot and it was fine, is it possible for the cv to be bad without having a bad boot?

the car only has 13k on it, that shouldn't be bad yet right?

 

hm... 13k? yikes, no, that shouldn't be bad at all. does this only happen under very fast cornering? how fast would you say?

 

This terrible noise, believe it or not, turned out to be loose lug bolts, it started out very faint, and I checked the bolts on the driver side where I thought the noise was coming from, but not the pass side, where it actually was coming from (duh).

So bad the shop I ended up taking it to looked the car over for almost an hr before diagnosing it. So it wouldn't hurt checking everything, make sure nothing is loose/rubbing.

Jack the car up, tug on the wheels for play (who knows, could be a wheel bearing), check the axle shaft for play at the joints, stuff like that.

 

kinda sounds like that. usually its in an off throttle fast corner (and sharp) just slow enough to not get understeer.

jacked the car up, tugged and tried to wiggle the wheel, and everything is rocksolid.

I'll inspect it thouroughly later when i get my new wheels and the car is up W/O the shoes on...

 

I had loose lug bolt problem too. its possible one of the worst sounds i've ever heard a car make. so glad thats all it was.
