This is what you want. It is a flow stack with k&n filter. Works better than all the overpriced intakes on the market and will bolt right on. http://www.bpinitiatives.com/products.php All under $100 US

so what is the difference between the flow stack with k&n filter and the K&N 57i Gen 1 or 2 induction kit (apart from the price)

you must have noticed I am new to mods and stuff and I am trying to get to know the TT engine and the mods available for the car

The kit you are talking about just uses a normal filter where this uses a flow stack that draws in far more air than a normal filter since its basically a funnel.

It can draw in more air than any TT specific intake. That is what you want with a turbo car. It will give you the sound you are looking for since it is an open element filter. It is a universal kit, but it is a strait bolt on since it fits everything w/o any modifications. All you will need is another filter or cover for the SAI that is also attached to the intake box

The SAI (secondary air pump) is attached to the airbox and is used to warm up the car faster on cold starts. You can hear it running for the first couple mins and the revs will drop from ~1k to ~700. You can get the fiter from atpturbo or from a local parts store

makes a bit sense now. I have noticed that until it gets warmed a bit it runs a bit over ~1k. Where is that initialy attached? or is it just another hole that takes in air?

I assume initialy this hole was taking in air from the stock intake box and now that I am gonna put a cone or the flow stack it will just stay on its own so it needs a filter or cover. correct me if i am wrong

You are correct. Ours is on our passenger side, im sure yours is still onyour drivers side. You can see the plastic lines go back and forth under the intake manifold.

cool... i am pretty sure i am gonna get a better picture when I actually open the bonnet and remove the airbox. To be honest with you there are so many products and so many different opinions that I get confused with what its product does and how I will benefit from that.

You suggested the flow stack which I have never heard before and now I will definitely take a look at it
