I'm really thinking about getting a bike, but I'm still debateing rocket or harley. I'm 23 and in milwaukee, so it is a very difficult choice. My friends have half and half.

If I were buying a bike, it'd be a Triumph Bonneville.

Awe man, sorry to hear that bro. So did you get leathers...are you still riding? That's a nice cbr by the way. Is that a 600/1000?

I just picked up a pair alp. boots...looking for a deal on gloves now.
I actually sold the bike right at the beginning of winter... now i got the bug again but im trying to find me another 1000. Preferably a zx-10, my other one was a beast after a full akropovic systemand a pwr commander. and i really loved the half wide open throttle on the straights, but you had to be careful coming outta the turns or you would be power sliding before you knew it. LOL Fortunately it never went down but i did sell it to a friend in 06. Oh well back to the www.cycletrader.com

SHOW ME SOME PROOF!Idont know where you get your info, buta 1000 is nota waste!!! Whats not to love about 180+hp just sitting there waiting on you to crank on it. Of course you have to know your limits w/ the bike, but that gos for a 6 or a 10 but dont go telling people a 1000 is a waste just because you dont prefer it. I have ridden 6s 750s 10s and v-twins, and to me the only bike that is a waste is a 750 because you dont have much more hp than a 600 and it weighs more like a 1000. Im not trying to **** you off but just because you cant handle a 1000 onthe streetdoesnt mean it is a waste!

Not to be picking sides, but I've had a good number of my friends who ride say a 1000 is just too much. Personally, theres no such thing as overkill, but I can see how a 1000 would be like driving a lambo around a gocart track. Kinda hard to reach its full potential.

and to extent your right about a 1000 being too much for some people and i know some people that ride 600s that could keep up with/pass me on my 1000in the turns. There is no difference as far as riding the bike. its all in how you control it.when to brake, when to accelerate.but saying its a waste is kinda like saying a bt tt is a waste on the street and should only tracked. like i said its just my opinion. but if they were so bad they wouldnt waste time/money producing them. just my .02

valid points on both sides. It is a matter of personal opinion.

What do you think of that Bonneville? I know its no rocket, but by my build and how I look, I think i look goofy on a rocket. Cruisers are more my style. It's got an 865cc carborated engine, on the bigger side, closer to 100 than to 600... but I'm not gonna ride it like you and your 1000's. ; )

Personally im not big on crusiers i have road a few harleys, two different softtail cruisers, and a full dressed dresser(thats one heavy **** LOL), there just not for me. as far as the 865cc you can never have too much power, as long as you know your limits. And as far as riding it like a1000 i would give you $1000 to mod your ttif you could drag a knee on that!! LOL!!
