Default hot set up for tires?

hey guys -
My dad is looking into some new tires for his '02 Audi TT quattro (225hp). What do you guys reccomend as good, reliable performance tires? Overall, something more performance minded than stock but still reliable. Thanks alot.

Depends, are you looking for summer, dry weather max performance, or something else. I've been quite happy with the Pirelli P-Zero M&S for all season work here in central KY, provides more than adequate grip on regular dry pavement, fantastic wet performance and is useable enough in the light snow we see here from time to time.

Two tires I would recommend depending if you have a set of winter tires to switch to or not.
For High Performance Summer driving I would recommend the Toyo T1-S or T1-R
Or for overall High Performance All season I would recommend the Yokohama AVS dB S2
It's a great tire for the road at any weather conditions.

If you go with the Michelins go with the Pilot Sport 2 model. But my first and favorite choice would be the Toyo T1-S and in Europe the T1-R
