Default How to get to 300hp

So say you have a 225Q and you wanna spice things up to around 300hp or so without goin for a bigger turbo, even though a bigger turbo would problely set you near 398hp+. Wat kinds of upgrades are you looking at to get there?? Ohhh and also take into account the car is chipped. So from there, how would i get to 300hp?

a bigger turbo. The ko4 wont get you 300whp... it will get you fairly close though.
a gt28rs will get your there with some room to grow.

Not going to happen w/o dropping more money than a BT upgrade and it will still have a crappy short *** powerband. Bigger turbo with a better powerband will make it far more worth it and enjoyable

Chip (not APR-good chip but their numbers are weak compared to others)
3"dp and exhaust (blue flame is good)
Air intake
Dahlback or SEM Intake Mani
Water/Meth kit
All this properly tuned will net you a just little over 300 hp-like 305 or 310-on pump gas and probably some really good torque numbers.
Course there's a few other things you can do to increase speed/quickness bit by bit that doesn't necessarily bump the numbers like a lightweight flywheel or an underdrive pulley kit. BUT, you can spend a little more altogether (Arnold @ Pagparts) and have yourself a nice BT closer to the 390+ hp range.

to get that much hp out of the ko4, you would put A LOT of stress on the rods and cause them to break sooner than later

I think it's 100% impossible to get 300AWHP out of the K04...you may be able to get around 300 BHP with the K04 but even that the power will basically be a spike and not real usable power...if you buy all the bolt on mods and do some major weight reduction you will feel a huge difference though.

So would it be right to say that 300 or a bit higher like 305-310 could actually hurt my engine with just the stock KO4 (with all the extra bolt ons)? basically it would just be better to upgrade to a BT that can handle more power correct??? it makes perfect sense though. So if a BT was out of the question, how much usable hp could i get out of a 225

The tq spike it would make will be very soon in the rpm range and make more than enough to bend a rod. If you got something like a 28rs you would have about the same spool up yet have a nice long powerband that would hold power out to 7k unlike the ko4 with no huge tq spike. I have seen people make 220-230awhp out of the turbo and thats with about 300wtq on 23-24psi and all the bolt ons.
