Default How to Increase Boost

I know there is some discussion around boost, but I have a slightly different question related to it. I have a chip in my car and it peaks at 20 and holds at 18. Question is, can I boost my boost? Forgive me, I just got this car and am still understanding all there is to know. But can someone give me some ways to increase the boost.

Any info/advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.

just buy a manual boost controller. You can only turn the boost up a psi or two but mbc usually allow the turbo the spool faster and hold boost longer.

Don't buy a "boost controller" buy a "Boost Machine" from Modshack it essentially sits between the turbo and the N75 valve and fakes it out. I've been able to increase boost on my chipped 180 by about 4 psi. The other nice thing is with the other valve you can delay the onset.

boost machine is a "boost controller". Just make it easy on yourself and buy a decent boost controller $40-80 and replace you n75 all together (still plugged in electonically of course)

BZZZZZZZZZZZ... different concept. The boost machine is used to tune the boost to delay onset and hold the peak. On the 1.8T engine it still allows for the engine protection provided by the MAP and the N75 valve. A boost controller that replaces the N75 allows you to increase boost but doesn't allow you to tune it to prolong the boost curve

Plus it helps controll wastegate creep therfore you will HOLD your boost and not lose any at all, just as long as your DV is able to hold it as well.

Most likely, but it is a simple install. Just unplug the hoses from the boost machine and back onto the N75 valve

If youre still on stock intercoolers, youre probably running enough for now. There are other ways to 'fake out' youre N75 without paying for a BM though,

Plus theres the possibility that even though your making elevated boost, your car is reading that and closing the Throttle body to some dergree to counteract your changes, and theres ways around that too.
