Default How much psi is safe?

I have an 02 180 with chip... and i have 2 questions to go along with it... How much psi do you think im at now with the chip, and how much do you think i can run without damaging the tubro or engine??

Im planning on getting the modshack stage 3, and the boost gauge is on the way so I may do a little tweaking

why would tire pressure hurt the engine?

anywho.. i believe the proper tire PSI should be 36 in the front and 33 in the back.

I'm not sure about the O.CT chip but I have GIAC's 91/93 and hit 17-18 lbs and settle at 15 lbs. When I use a MBC turned all the way down I hit and hold 21 lbs or so. Assuming your turbo hasn't been modified the 2002 year came witha K03s which can handle upwards of around 24 lbs but just because it can doesn't mean that it won't hurt it over time. I remove the MBC when I'm not out playing around or on a track because that much boost doesn't make since to me in traffic. In regards to the engine, to my knowledge, as long as you have a better than stock intake and modify the fuel you can run as much boost as you want. I have a K&N drop in and use Limmewinks to modify the fuel when I use the MBC and haven't had any problems.

What about the 225?
I mean, what would be a safe max setting for boost in the 225 before you start putting unnecessary stress on the turbo? I've heard quite a few different opinions.

Either 180 or 225, the turbo will go before the engine. Effiencency is what is more important.

180 18-22psi is the peak range for a ko3(s), you can run a few more, but you need to get the extra heat down.
225 20-24psi is the peak range for the ko4-2x. same as above applys here also.

180 chips 15-18peak
225 chips 20ish peak

At what RPM range should my Boost begin to fade off at full acceleration (2001 225 APR 93 chip, no boost controller yet.)

It seems that I hit 20psi and hold it sometimes... but usually only in 3rd. Obviously in 1st and 2nd, its so short I dont really have time to "level off". My concern is that I have the APR 93 in my 225 and usually hold steady at 18-19psi. Is that about normal... or does it sound like I have a leak somewhere?

the turbine housing is still kinda small, so it will fall off. But all chipped 225's seem to fall to where you are at redline. You get a boost controller, it will spool faster and it will hold the peak longer.

no leaks, but for more info about when it drops off a 225 owner will have to help you out.
