Default Huge Instrument Cluster Issue

Because my cluster is starting to act up, I am researching Instrument Cluster Service. We all know this is a common problem with the TT, and there are many that need to be replaced. It comes to me that these new units come with mileage set to 000000. Although the new install is supposed to note the previous mileage, I wonder how many have been replaced leaving the mileage at 000000. Makes me wonder if many "Low Mileage" used vehicles actually have much higher mileage but don't show it on the odometer due to the new cluster install.
Make sense?
May want to double check the timing belt on your 30,000 mile used TT.

Doesn't help if the title has never been transfered.

Don't you gotta do the odometer or w/e when you register the car?

Sure, you're supposed to be honest reporting mileage upon selling a car. Also, a car can change hands among dealers, and in many other situations, and the tiltle never get transfered. Meanwhile the car is being driven, and miles are adding up. You also have the "One Owner" that has never sold the car. Many times I have seen two of the same year car on a lot next to each other; one has 60,000 miles, and the other with 30,000. I wonder which is actually the better deal.

A. I have seen people selling tt's with the cluster reset. It was an 01 with 7k miles. When I asked the dude told me tho.

B. I have rolled back odo's in high end cars before. They still matched up with carfax. It never really mattered much tho 100k vs 130k. Being an Electical Enginner has its perks.

Sure the carfax mileage will match up. "I just drove the car every other Sunday for the last 4 years."
