2001 TT 225 here and mine does NOT do this. Verified tonight, moving the car from the front of the house to the driveway... started the car with no lights and the needles did not light up.

wow, really? That IS weird, you'd think it'd be something they started after a certain model year but ouTTie914's does it and she drives a 2000.

I have an '02 180 CQ and mine light up. I wonder what the designation is to determine which ones do it and which ones don't?
