I have both APR stock and 93 octane programs on my 2001 180Q, flash loaded-luv's it. The difference it makes after the 500 or so mile period for the ECU to adapt is awesome, no other mod you make will get you as much power for the price. I don't have any experience with other chip manufacturers, I went with APR because of their proven track record of performance and reliability and also for the proximity of the dealer.

IMO, the 93 octane chip from APR put my old 180hp TT where it should have been from the start. 180 ponies is not respectable for a sports car, even if its only an entry level sports car.

APR 93 here. Best $500 and 1/2 hour you'll spend upgrading your TT. Only issue now is 93 octane being around $4 a gallon.

haha yeah the price of gas doesn't help anything but it's still cheaper for me to drive on a daily basis than my 98 jeep grand cherokee

If you have a boost gauge installed you will immediately notice higher levels of boost and the car will definitely pull harder, as your ECU adapts the car will get smoother and have even more power and torque as the ECU learns and compensates for the higher performance levels. At first I wasn't that impressed and even double checked to make sure it was set on the 93 octane program but after a week I was loving it. Make sure you install a boost gauge before chipping or at the same time, to monitor the performance of the chip and make sure the higher pressure doesn't cause/exacerbate boost leaks. Also swap plugs a range cooler.
