So, I broke my ankle and couldnt get to my car to start it up for a while, since its been record breaking cold here, not suprisingly my car didnt start. I was trying to jump it, took off the battery cover and bent over when one of the screws that holds the battery cover on fell out of my pocket into the engine bay. It fell in the front center area , bounced around, but didnt come out. Itlanded on something plastic by the sounds. This blows. Any ideas on whether this is dire or how to find that thing would be greatly appreciated.

 

it might have fallen onto the skid plate under the engine. I would say forget it. Or yo could buy a new one for like a $1 maybe.

 

i heard a chewed up piece of gum will hold just as well.

 

you could take the skid plate(plastic) underbody cover off

i found brown marks on my skid plate.[:-][:-][:-]

 

They sell at ecstuning.com and you'll will not be able to find them at a hardware store. I recommend your purchase like 10 of them. I know I personally have like 4 of the pop rivets that hold the engine cover on down there. The shipping costs 10x more than the plastic screw which I believe costs 67 cents. So I'd just wait until you need to order something else and get it then.
