Default Indy area shops?

I need to find a shop to do the timing belt kit on my 00 1.8 fwd TT. I found one shop that is nearly $1100 and I think that is a bit high, I am thinking $800 max. (comments?)

Also, is there a "how to" on the www that I can look at? I may entertain doing it myself and buying a manual, but I want to see whats involved before I spend the money on the manual, if it is too daunting I will just bite the bullit.

Thanks

Most places will charge pretty dang close to a grand for the timing belt water pump deal.
i got mine cheaper because they billed me wrong.

DIY with a mechanically inclined friend!
It'll cost about $300 shipped AND, you can be sure everything was done correctly.
If that's not enough, you can be sure you didn't get over charged!!
You can get the kit from dieselgeek
All you need in addition to the kit is the coolant... $6

Take a look at my thread "Does this sound right to you"

I saw that kit, looks like the way to go to me! I think I may give it a go, does not look all that technical, just tight. I don't even need calipers but I do need some time to do it...dam job.
