Default Instrument Cluster Failure

I have a 2008 Audi TT 2.0T. The instrument cluster totally stopped working yesterday. Nothing worked, including the speedo, tach, fuel, temp, center digital display, lights, even the lights on the fan and temp control ***** did not work. Only 5 trouble lights on the speedo display worked, which were the ABS, BRAKE, seat belt, power assist, & air bag. Car ran fine, but I only drove it 1 mile to get home. I checked the fuses and they were all fine. After sitting for 24 hours, I started the car up again and everything is working fine. Glad that it fixed itself, but would like to know if anyone has experienced the same thing or know what the cause of the problem is. Anyone know what the problem could have been?
