I agree, but these types of questions will always be asked on forums, period.

AND it is completely 100% upto you whether or not you waste your time replying.

Plenty of intake threads if you search for them
the only reason this thread has continued is because i had to correct the misinformation you have posted

i think forums are #1 a library for finding the information you require, #2 discussion of modifications, #3 chatting it up with the guys, #4 asking NEW questions.

You have to understand that this is rediculously over posted topic. I only opened this thread to see someone get flamed. You have to do a little homework on your own before you start asking questions. It will save some people stress, and you humiliation.

--Sorry kiddies, but Cincy knows his sh*t. No amount of debate changes the performance specs our little cars have been putting out for the past 9-years... If you want a CAI or a "shorty" Cone setup then go for it, but don't expect to all-of-a-sudden blow Porsche's off the road. The biggest difference you'll notice is in the sound of your turbo (simply because it is no longer muffled by a closed airbox).
...and in the future, it's best to NOT argue with CincyTT about performance/repair/upgrade related topics. If there has been a test/spreadsheet/tutorial/diagnostic report/etc; that crazy bastard has read it and assimilated with it. He has more clout on this forum than the great Buddha himself...

Cincy, perhaps we need to make a "How to search the Audi forums" tutorial...

Thanks for the kind words. As for that thread, it would be next to the FAQ and we all know how often people use that
