Default Intake thoughts?

Hey guys,
I've searched on this and haven't found any good comparisons, so if it's there, my bad.

I just got my car chipped and DV'd and now want to make it breathe a little easier... What do you suggest? I really don't want my car to be super ricey that you can hear from a mile away, even though it's going 30.
I know the most common are:
The modshack VTTA or whatever, (which is stupid expensive)
The shroom filters, if I do that, do I need to go for the "real" HKS or Greddy, or just the cheap ones from ebay?
The K&N panel filter with drilling a bunch of holes in the airbox.

Who has what? I know it won't help performance much, if at all, but I just want to keep my car happy.

I have a cold air intake and to be honest I dont think it makes much more of a difference then the stock air box other then sucking in MAYBE a little bit cooler air but the air box grabs air in from about the same place as the cold air intake I believe and having a cold air intake also ups the chance of seizing up due to water getting sucked into it, Id just stick with the stock air box in all honesty and just put a high flow air filter like a K&N in there.

And drilling holes?
thats a horrible Idea
you'd just end up sucking hotter air into the engine which would make your car run worse hahawho gave you that Idea?
P.s. Cincy is there a reason only 4 lines of text can be written, other wise it resets connection?

Most likely still a glitch in the forum. Just give it time and stop posting nonsense, it just makes me have to clean it up. As for intakes, i am a big fan of drilling a few large holes or a velocity stack and large AEM dryflow cone filter. It just depends of the look and amount of money you want to spend. I personally just have a paper filter and a few holes in the bottom of the box. The holes will only draw in air from the fender so it will bring in the same temp air as a closed box, but more air.

If you are talking about me, you just remove the lid and filter and then take a 1" hole cutter (orlargestyou have) and then clean out any scraps and then reassemble.

wouldnt that just suck Hot air from the engine compartment into the air box making your engine run worse?
since hot air isnt as compact
you are talking about drilling holes in the Air box its self right?
