Anyone used this?

instead of beating a dead horse maybe i should just get one of these. biggest thing for me is i don't want problems from this car.
I have the Eclipse for my daily break downs and problems.
I wouldn't mind a bit better milleage and a bit more power without hurting the life span.

maybe that cone filter kit would work. does it mess up any of the sensors?

Haven't used that, but it should be fine for what you want if you don't feel like spending the extra $100 or so on the nicer ones.

Another thing to consider is this: that particular filter may be harsh on your MAF, throwing false airflow readings or even damaging the sensor.

Truth be told, you're probably best off with a K&N cone, just make sure you don't over-oil (remember, blow off the excess with compressed air).

Look at the TTDA and VTDA intake systems from the modshack.info

Thanks for the info i wish that thing came with a K&N.
I like that cold air because it has that metal housing around it. the splash guard.

I'll check out modshack

You can do this in the meantime:

If you get rid of the 90-degree bends in the stock airbox tubing, you can probably also safely remove the veins in your MAF (that is, you must smooth out the airflow before removing them).

Well, the long-term benefit or harm of a K&N air filter is pretty much up for debate. There is danger to your MAF.

Now, a K&N filter DOES flow particles larger than your stock air filter, however MOST problems with the K&N arise from owners over-oiling the filter.

To be on the safe side, a good idea is to oil the filter up, but then blow off the remaining oil with compressed air. That way, it will not build up on the MAF.

Why not just go for a VDTA? Just wondering.
A VDTA is more money. Plus isnt the filter element the same when talking about a k&n and the filter that comes with the VDTA system?
