haha but seriously why is yours more than mine... your paying for the sensor (which is pretty much the same all around right?) and the housing, you would think that the 225 maf housing would be more because the only other cars that use it are the RS6 (and S3?)... and how many different VW's use the 180 maf?!?

THe awd/atc mafs are differnt then the rest, not sure why or what, but they are.

You should clean your filter every 5-7k miles with an oil change.

Well I got it all put ont. K&N went on with out any problems, but the breather hose that is connected was a bitch. I cut at the elbow and put on a small 1inch breather hose. Man that engine sounds like a jet engine. So I am going to buy the AEM oilless filter. No problems or codes yet though. Your completely right there really is no horspower gain. I personally didn't see anything special with the modshack intake, if I am missing something send me the link. I will take a picture and post it when I get home.

the K&N is perfectly ok if you read the instruction and dont over oil it, the K&N increases performance and mpg, I prefer the panel filter my self and had one fitted to my new car by the dealer and under warranty as long as I follow the instructions or let them do it

even from the factory K&N filters can be too oily, I bought one one time and it was literally wet with oil... if you yhink about how fast that turbo is sucking the air in you can imagine any residue is going to be pulled through the filter and the MAF is the first thing in the way to catch it.
