Default k04 turbo?

I have a 180HP fwd TT with a neuspeed P-flo intake and a k03 turbo. I read in another Post Thread that you can swap a k03 with a k04 turbo with out doing any other modifications. Is this true? Would i need gaskets, wastegates, new injectors, or a bigger intercooler???

Thanks

All you need is the turbo and a new gasket, but I was told that it would only give me about another 10 -15 hp with all the mods I have on now so it wouldnt be worth the money. Your next big gain will be getting your car chipped. Another 25 hp or so and worth the bang for the buck. I have the GIAC chip, Pflow, downpipe, catback diverter and run about 205 whp. The 225 TT has the K04 but has a bigger manifold than ours and a better intercooler and a couple other upgrades I think. So basically with all the mods I have done minus a new manifold my car is like the 225 TT in many ways and thats why the K04 will only give me a few more HP. Or so I have been told.

Well with a turbo upgrade to a k04 you could do a swap but it would not benefit much... id get bigger injectors, 4-bar fuel pressure regulator, bigger manifold, samco hosing, FMIC or dual setup from 225TT, hi-temp steel gaskets and that should work great :-)

the wastegate should come with the turbo

GIAC was $495 and I could tell the difference big time. A down pipe and 2.5 or 3.0 cat back will give another 30hp or so.

if you want more power, the gt28r would be the one to use. ball bearing for quicker spool.
