Default Left headlight works... eventually

Sometimes when I turn on my headlights the left side will remain off and the headlight out indicator will chirp at me. Usually I can just cycle the headlight switch on/off and after a couple minutes the left will turn on. Once its on it stays on and has no issues.

This is pretty annoying though... does this problem sound familiar to anyone? I did a search but only came up with headlight upgrade threads.

I think it's a sign of the ballast about to burn out.

replace the bulbs before you replace the ballasts. Its cheaper and is more than likely your problem. I had the exact same issue a month or so ago and a new set of phillips 6000k bulbs solved the problem ($40) new ballasts are going to be more expensive... if it doesn't solve your problem then it is prob the ballast.

If it's the ballast you're better off replacing the HID's in both headlights with aftermarket 55W ones rather than buying one OEM ballast.

I got the kit off xtremehids.com (their ebay store) all in all ~100 bucks including shipping
