Lookin' for a TT, advise?
I've been reading this forum a while, but I've still got a few questions.
I'm going to try to find one in the $15 to 20k neighborhood. I figure that puts me out of the cars that have any warranty left on them. So I will be stuck with all the bills.
It will be a roadster.
I know about the timing belt/water pump issue. About $1700 if it needs it. But are there any other recurring costs or problems? Tires for example? Service?
How much do you guys take it to the dealer? I try to avoid them, and there isn't one in my area anyway.
Any help here would be appreciated, the people on this forum seem pretty out front.
Thanks.

I spent 18.9 on mine - 01 225 roadster with 44k miles in flawless condition, so you are probably looking closer to $20k than $15k. I've only had mine for a couple weeks, though, so I can't atest to how they function over time, but it's by far an amazing car!
Thanks for the replies. So if I understand things right, my VW dealer should be at home working on this machine? There is no Audi dealer locally, but there is a VW dealer.
BTW, does anyone have any input on the Haldex AWD system? Reliable?
Require extra service?
Thanks

You miight want to research all the options available. That's the only thing I would have done differently. I looked around for a long time before getting mine.
I noticed more for sale and better prices for roadsters during the winter which is when I got a deal on mine.
Not many people want to part with one during the summer months and dealers know the appealcan fetch a spur of the moment"emotional" deal during this time of year.
Also do a thorough search before asking questions on here. Otherwise you might be asking a question that's been answeredseveral times before.

Sorry if I'm asking an old question. I did some searches. Also looked at the FAQ. Answered a lot of questions there.

o wow... you're pretty far from me... i really need a bigger car, so im kind of looking to sell mine but for no less then 19,000. It's tough because some days i say to myself there is no way im selling this thing... but then reality strikes.... i need to get something bigger... so if the right person came along i will sell it only becausei have too. But until then imkeeping it. If you were in the area i wouldsee if we can work out a deal
