Geez, reading thru, I'm having the same reactions as Cincy. I was gonna tell you to do an O2 spacer, and then read a few more posts down and saw you already sent the ECU out. Oh well, if you're happy with it, and don't mind spending the money, what can you do?

My excuse is that I work on the road btw... ; )

Its hard not to when you see a simple fix and people throwing money (that i would be happy to have) away.

Hey, no one said anything until AFTER I shipped my ECU out. It's really no big deal.

Cincy... I am still on a serious learning curve as far as some of this stuff goes. I didn't realize that they would just flash another segment to the code. Duh... makes sense. As for the spacer, I read the articles. I didn't really care for the idea. It looked like the O2 sensor stuck out after the two spacers go in. I like the functionality of the APR user interface as well. I was never crazy about the flash loader. I wish I hadn't already done my S4. That's life.

Heh...

I took out my ECU today.

I forgot to call Beefy yesterday about the ECU swap.
I called today as I was getting started on pulling mine.
Got his voicemail, and asked him to call me back when he gets the message so we can make sure the #'s match up.
I got everything off (The wipers were a bitch, I felt like I was gonna break them).
and pulled the ECU in it's chastity belt. Sawed through both safety bolts, broke them both in half with the screwdriver.
Got one loose with vise grips , clamped onto the second one...

My phone rang... It was Beefy calling to tell me APR flashed his today because I didn't call to let him know what was up.
So... I spent my night taking out and putting back in my ECU. with a 0hp gain.
At least it's fully together, and Runs...
I lost a 10mm socket too...
Always the 10mm. I have like 4 sets without the original 10mm because they all got lost somehow.

note: I'm not placing any blame on beefy or saying he did anything wrong at all.
Just filling everyone in on how bad my luck and timing were today.

its too bad you didn't see the other alternatives but at least you have the comfort of knowing you did it your way.

WishIWasRWD... I waited to hear from you all day Sunday. I didn't have the PM you sent me with your number so I waited. I never heard from you and APR had the ECU on Monday. I wasn't going to tell them to sit on it in the event that you would possibly call when I didn't know what was going on.

I feel bad. I would have liked to have done this deal, but my car is sitting without an ECU and I need to get it back together. Sorry.
