Default Loud screech

When I start my car in the morning with the heater turned on it screeches really loud from under the hood area. Any ideas? Could it be a belt? Thanks

most likely the bearings in the secondary air pump are failing. Some have had luck drilling out the rivets holding it together and cleaning/greasing it before reassembling, but if you're not up for that, it wouldn't be too difficult to replace.

I'd consider shokan.com or something, and see if they'd be willing to test the unit to be sure it doesn't squeal.

That sounds about right now that u mention. I've noticed not hearing my secondary air pump in the morning lately. I live where it snows, would u suggest replacing or taking out? Also how hard u think it is to replace? Thanks

its the big round black plastic thing just off to the side of your oil filter with the corrugated plastic hoses coming out of it. Not hard at all to replace, or just remove. You'll throw a code for incorrect airflow if you pull it though, so unless you can deal with that, its probably better to just replace it.

Yeah I've been throwing a code for that for quite some time now I think. Guess I should replace it. Looking for a decent price on a new one now, any suggestions? I tried shokan but couldn't find it.
