Funny how I was looking this up over the weekend and see someone dig it up!

It's getting about that time for my baby; here comes all of the small and expensive maintenance items!

 

The maf is easy to clean and its a good idea to do so a day or 2 after refreshing any oiled filter.

Its also a good idea to pull your IAT (intake air temp) sensor and clean that as well.

A littlecare put into these cars and they will reward you greatly.

My car pulls so hard lately and its quiet too which is nice. I still get a miserable rattle at 2700-2900rpms though.

Damn I should have done this when I installed my shroom. I saw those vanes and thought to myself I should remove them to open up even more flow, but I did not. So the sensor does not come out of the MAF housing? On my old Celica GTS I was able to take the sensor out without dismantling the intake.

 

im pretty sure the sensore comes out you need a weird tool tho

 

Torx25 probably...whichI have I have never seen a car use Torx25 as much as this car does.

 

yea i got that tool too but the sensor has litt le like ***** inside where the tool goes its weird

 

Its a security torx screw. Depending on how old your maf is it can be a 6pt torx or 5pt. The 5pt are easy to buy. The 6 not so much. (I think I got that right.)
