Default Marvel Mystery Oil?

I need to do my service soon, i'm doing synthetic oil and i'm planning on using 25% Marvel Mystery Oil.

Does anyone have any experience with Marvel in a TT?

Any product you would use instead?

While i'm asking which synthetic oil should I use? winter is coming, and I'll probably change it again when summer rolls around, so this is somewhat season-specific.

I'd put marvel mystery in an 84 datsun to keep it from knocking, but I don't know about a TT
Cant go wrong with Royal Purple-a little pricey--but no worries at all when you're running it.

Is royal purple an additive, or a full oil replacement?

I did a quick search and found the site, but Didn't find much info about using it by itself, or with oil.

It's a full oil replacement-...absolutely no additives needed..ever, as long as your running Royal Purple. I even think there's a link to it at the top of the forum homepage. I'll do some searching myself.

I'm not sure about Royal Purple as far as crankcase oil, but the Amsoil "study" in the FAQ section made RP gear oil look pretty lame. I switched mine back to Mobil 1 after reading it.

Mobile 1 full or semisynthetic the time changes just alter and depends on how hard you drive, if hard then reduce it by 50% then half the time the timing belt needs a change

I've been running Mobil 1 for 20 years now and have had nothing but good experiences with it.

think im going to swap to valvoline synpower so i can use an approved 5w30 oil. Less weight, better gas milage. Thats why honda uses 5w20 in there engines.

Too bad Mobil One full synthetic isnt full synthetic anymore.
Its percentage of synthetic is high enough so they can legally still call it full synthetic, but its not.

No more Mobil a for me anymore... i'm due for a change and will probably go with castrol syntec, and matbe i;ll be doing a tranny flush with some redline MT-90 as well...

I await the day of smooth syncro functionality...
