Just got me an '00 model, how much can it hold before BOOM ? I'm upgrading to a 50 trim or similar.

what kind of car? cause if you're talking about the SRT 4 you have listed under your profile name, then I don't think an audi forum is gonna be of much help. even though you're in the TT forum, you still need to list model, engine, mileage, if any work is already done to it

its a mess trying to find a exact number most people will tell you about 300-400hp.... but you can find sites that say the 1.8 don't start breaking parts until north of 700hp.... also there a alot of sites claiming capabilities of over 1000hp..... safe range 300-400 without worrying... ONLY if your motor is in condition.

Some have made 600whp and some have blown it with a stock turbo. 300hp is about the limit safely. After that it's borrowed time. Get aftermarket rods and be safe.

another thing to look into is what engine code you have. I have read in a few places that right around 2000 some engine codes changed to a different rod design. I know the atc in my tt still has the old style rods. Ill try and find a link to the site.
