Middle compartment door replacement
Ok, I have a problem describing that little storage compartment in between the backrests of the seats. That's what I am trying to describe in the subject line.
The door to this compartment suddenly just failed; ie. it would not remain close. I presume something broke. On the door itself, there is a little protrusion that aligns with a 'catch' on the compartment. The protrusion does not have any 'hook' on it. It is hard to tell if something has broke off it. It's just a smooth rectangular plastic piece that is part of the door. Can someone confirm if there should be a 'hook' on this protrusion so that it can catch on to the 'catch' on the compartment? I am trying to determine if it is the door that I need to replace or I need to look into the 'catch' that is on the compartment.
If it is the door, anyone has any suggestions on where I can buy it?
Thanks.

This was bugging me for nearly a year until I found a solution.
The original mechanism was made by Southco (UK) and Audi moulded the tounge into the lid. Southco still manufacture a similar mechanism, with a seperate self adhesive tongue.
E4 - Touch Latches Product List | Southco
Southco seem to be available in many parts of the world, I got mine from RS components in Australia for around $ 12 delivered.
The only one I could source was the E4-10-201-10 and it worked fine for me, but I think the closer exact fit could have been closer to the E4-10-202-10. the only diff being the thichness of the frame the body would be retained in.
Fitting was simple, pry out the old mechanism body carefully using two screwdrivers or a couple of butter knives, cut off the remaining old tongue making sure none is still proud on the lid. Clean the lid where the new self adhesive tongue will stick using something like isopropol alcohol. Drop in the new body with the tongue attached, remove the self adhesive backing and close the lid onto it. I opened it immediately, pushed hard to stick it well to the door and then left it open for 24 hrs to allow the glue to cure well.
