RE: Military Service Members
Hey guys, thought i'd say a little something...Sean Murphy, age: 37, hometown: El Paso

I'm a retired SSG, got out in 2001 since I didn't feel like getting passed over again for the E7 board. Joined in 1986 as a 13F-Forward Observer, did all the hooah stuff. Stayed Ranger for 4 years in 3rd Batt, CSC. Panama, Bright Star, JTF-6, Italy for 2 years, Air Assault Instructor at Ft Rucker...changed to Patriot because of the better re-enlistment bonuses, didnt get any(sux). Worked all the odd jobs with the same unit for 7 years. Got a few degrees along the way, learned alot about logisitcs. Got out after 15 years, worked for Homeland Security as a Tactical Security contractor, but found my way into Iraq and I have been working here for the state department since October 2004. (I am not in security anymore) I'm here in the Green Zone and I posted pictures of some of the Audi A8's we have over here. Tomorrow I start clearing for leave, I'll be at the BIAP on Tuesday for my midday charter by the way.

for those that know...Iraqna: 0790.451.4601, hit me up...i'm always down to hook someone up over here.

Yeah, HMMWVs with frag kit 5s just dont cut it...Fortunetly for us we drive Cougars. They keep us intact after being hit by 40 lb IEDs. (I have a video of this...this stupid TOC WATCHED us get hit and didnt radio us that an IED was in front of us...) So...I'm glad that my car is NOT here and nice and safe at home. (although...there are no speed limits here and curfew is at 9pm...the roads are OURS....sigh...)

10 years active Mechanized Infantry and 18 years Reserve. Was scheduled to retire Oct '02 but the Army wanted one more little thing from me... Deployed to Kuwait in Jan '03 and into Iraq in April. Stayed six months in Babylon (no kidding) traveling up and down Hwy 1 to Baghdad. Then back to Kuwait for final three months. Retired as an O6 in June '04. Oh, I was already a grandfather when I went into Iraq.
