I just ran to the store a little bit ago. When I started my car (2000 180 quattro) I heard this robotic-like morse code.
So I turned off the radio, heat, and even headlights just to hear it better. Noise was still there and no CEL's...
At first I thought it was the secondary air pump but it didn't go away. I then revved in neutral, and the morse code-like sound got louder. Like my car couldn't handle it!
Once I heard this I turned my car off and let it sit for about 2 minutes. Turned her back on and this mysterious noise had disappeared!

Anyone have a clue as to what was going on with my baby?
