As much as I like my TT....

That sounds right. With gas prices as high as they are, i would think about keeping my 1.8.

Actually, they didn't start the putting the 4.2L V8 in the S4 until the '04 B6. The last run of the 2.7T was in '02. I believe they skipped year '03 in the states.

That is why I've been thinking about the TT. I have $8500 saved up right now. When I go on leave I'm going to check things out, but I may just keep saving until my tour is over around May or June.
haha, gas prices.. I was thinking about selling my TT and getting a big diesel truck. I love the diesel power and if you ever get a chance to drive a nice big one.. you will understand. They lift up when you get on the gas, and also you dont have to worry about hitting anything at all... its like "curb? what curb?"
I'm likely going to hang on to my TT. Just put some more $$ into it, love driving it and don't mind 27 around town and32 highway (even if it only gets 93 octane). Amazing how fast the pump dial spins at $3.13 per gallon huh?
Maybe I'll reconsider next summer. I'm a former Beemer guy and wouldn't mind finding a really clean (02-03) M5. If I wanted winter drivability, maybe a 5 Series xi. I know....yuk RWD....but the Beemers have had the nicest ride in my opinion, loaded with creature comforts not to mention quality build and understated style.
We've got 3 kids (2 teens), nobody does the TT rear seat....fortunately the wife drives a full size SUV (also needed to pull toys)

If you guys think chips are good gains for TT's you should see the gains diesel trucks get.
Insane! 100+ HP 200+ Torque.
And their chips run less than $500

I wouldnt mind having 1200 lb ft torque at my foot.... the only problem is I would unnecessarily tow anything I could find... I would literally drive around and look for bull dozers to tie up to and drag around!
all that power and still on the stock turbo. I think a performance tdi would be a huge hit in the states. If you can make one that gets 35+ mpg and run 13.5-14 et's, that would be hard to turn down. Plus you can use the vane technology in deisel turbos that would give extremly fast spool and still make great top end.... drooolllll!!
I'm with ya cincy. I love diesel technology and think it is far superior to gas. The power is much more obtainable, and the engine itself is normally much more reliable. You cant really god wrong. Also, you can boost the snot out of a thick *** diesel block.
