a must read!93oct vs race fuel, msds inside
Long story short, here are MSDS info from mobil 93 “bottom” Sunoco race 100oct “top”. These are a little vague, but it gives you an idea of whats in your fuel. But given the numbers of 15% for MOBIL 93 is xylene, and “ 15% of 13 gallons” is 1.95 gallons of xylene per tank, plus .65 gallons of toluene per tank would equal 2.6 % per 13 gallons. And the race fuel has a max of 30% toluene and xylene, that would be 3.9 gallons of the mix per 13 gallon tank. So if you were to add 1 gallon of xylene or toluene, it would bring your mix to 3.6 gallons per 13 gallon tank of aromatics or 27% toluene-xylene mix.
I rember a thread regarding how much you can add to be safe, and it was around 30%. But that’s a total of 30%, so for us with a ~13 gallon tank, that’s 1 gallon of additive.
1 gallon should bring you up to the high 90’s, roughly 99oct from 93oct. but here is the good news, it only costs roughly 8 dollars extra a tank.
also your fuel economy should go up a few points, but lets say you drive 15,000 miles a year, at 30mpg with a 13 gallon tank with 93 oct at $3.50 per gallon, your spending roughly $1750 a year.
know if you use the same numbers but add the cost of toulene or xylene, wich roughly comes to $4.15 gal, its a extra 300 a year. buts thats at the same milage, but ive seen the high 30's using it. so it comes out to be the same in the end

dont know what your going for but Tulene is dangerous to handle and if you forgot, w/m injection takes the octane rating to~110 with a 50/50 mix. Not to mention FAR cheaper and safer to run.

ya, they probably won't, but ive been using the two diffent aditives for a while, and have a nice database at work to research from. if people use it, great, if not, . just thought i would share my reasearch findings on a forum, this one and on a few others. w/m sounds great though, but 300 dollars for a year supply of toulene and or xylene for almost the same results as w/m with out touching the engine bay sounds better to me imho. both have been argued as working or a waste, but the msds sheets don't, or can not lie by law. just throwing an idea out to the masses. oh, by the way, hows your build coming? can't wait to see the numbers out of that 2.0++++
