just out of curiosity, where would someone get a hold of race fuel? It doesn't seem like a standard pump choice, at least not in Washington.

Used to be able to get avgas from small airports (duh), I know they won't sell it for a car at the local airport anymore though, don't know if thats their decision, or law.
You wouldn't want to run it all the time anyway, its leaded, aka, not good for cats. Not good for catalytic converters either.
