I sound like a rice-mobile ! I put on my K&N cone filter, along with a breather filter, and now i have a ricey ricey sound. I love the sound of a BOV and the "pssssh" but this is strange. At around 3-3.2k rpm it starts going up.. then it pushes off, which is normal. but when i shift it is like it is already "pssshh"-ing and it sounds like im a high-schooler with my BOV adjusted to the lowest setting. I can be driving in 3rd or 4th at around 3k rpm and i push the gas BARELY.. and my "pssshh" starts up and holds.. is this really normal or what? Ive installed cone filters on other cars and you can hear a difference at low rpm, but now the only difference i hear is this "pssshh" sound, which is almost all the time.

Not sure about all that, but let me know if you want a stock air box and a k&n drop in panel filter for $50 shipped, will give same gains, less "rice" noise :-)

but THAT much ? Im not sure if im over-reacting, but its strange. When i rev up I cant hear any difference until it hits over 3k rpm, then the "spooling" sound

it is going to make quite a bit more noise when you eliminate the airbox... i wouldnt call it rice dude...

 

yes it is stock DV.. i have a dahlback DV on its way. You think that will help ?

im sure someone will be able to tell you for sure. I personally love it. My brother mr2 sounds SO awesome when just cruising... The only thing i dont like is his BOV popping like very 8 seconds lol. He wants a different one.

 

yea thats what i mean. i love the sound, but not every second when i tap the gas it goes off !

Everything is normal, if you dont like the sound, put the airbox back on. And please refrain from calling the car ricey just because it makes noise, thats just dumb
