my rough 1.8t could be harmonic balancer?
A mechanic has me convinced that my rough 1.8t 225hp is something wrong with the rotating mass of engine.
he suggested pulling the harmonic balancer.
If not that he thought of taking the pan off to look inside.
and if not that the clutch.
clutch only has 30k miles on it. car has 130k miles.
mechanic also thought a rod could have bent but I really don't drive this thing like a race car.
I have done EVERYTHING else to the engine. already speant waaaay to much money.
no mods on car.
Does this sound correct? has anyone had problems with a flywheel or clutch going out of balance?
thanks for the help - can't wait to have car fixed. even thought this sounds like big money.

My old mustang had the harmonic balancer go out on it and it felt like the car was going to shake itself apart.
My audi was running really rough awhile ago to the point I thought something like my mustang had happened again. The BIG difference was that if I gave the Audi gas it would not want to rev. If I gave the mustang gas it would rev and make the vibration worse.
the Audi turned out to be a combination of coil packs and spark plugs, eventhough I just put new coil packs on the month before. The mustang was a worn rubber seal on the harmonic balancer that cause it to be out of balance.
