my tally- one year of ownership and receipts:
i put this up in the TT forum on vortex but some of you dont post there, so i wanted to put it here too so you all can see it:
*********************************************
hey everyone!
well its been a year since i owned the TT, and today i went back to my folder that has all my TT paperwork to reminisce (loan stuff, registration info, and receipts) and gathered up all the documents to look everything over.
i wanted to post on here to tell you what i have spent in one year of ownership for this car, having driven it for 23000 miles:
2 x registration @ 65 each: 130
insurance 1 year: 1200
23000 miles of gas: 2724
4 x oil change @ 74 each: 296
chip, DV, boost gauge: 1100
alternator + N75K : 480
koni shocks, neuspeed springs, rear sway, and intake: 1085
new tires: 473
17 x car wash @ 20 each: 346
cleaning supplies: 120
timing belt and related items: 750
car payments: 6000
total:
14704
still needed for 2008:
another oil change
haldex flush
drivers door sensor
install of shocks, springs, rear sway, and intake
replace cracked windshield
summer wheels
most of that was general maintenance and upkeep, and normal things like insurance, etc.
the only unexpected bummer was the alternator, and the rest was basic mods.
looking at it all totalled up it seems like an insane amount but given the fact that i did drive so many miles i guess it is justified? i really havent had any major things go wrong and once i take care of the things above it should (hopefully) be smooth sailing going forward...
i am curious as to what you guys have put into your cars in the last year? lets compare notes...

DMV fine: $450-ish
V1 (bought next day): $400
40k tune-up (filters/haldex/etc): $150
Osir parts: $350
Paint & install: $575
Gas: ... don't even wanna think about it.

BTW i forgot to mention that a lot of those miles driven were work-related, and i got some of the miles expensed out- about 1100 bucks last year in my paycheck. so the total really drops down to around 13K if i think of it that way.
