Default n75 Valve

Is it worth getting one of these Im unsure as to if my car already has one or not. Ive been researching all about them and they seem like a good upgrade but I dunno if my 01 audi tt 180 has it installed already.

Nevermind I found out that our TT's do have n75 valve but they arent tuned for high boost levels. So with that said I'll be buying one...

Chip it, then build a boost machine!

(Don't just build the boost machine, that was my first idea, apparently not good)

Boost machine basics

Kinda controls how hard, and how fast your car boosts. Tons of info on audiworld.com forums.

so the n75 is the boost machine? I am chipped, 2.5 full exhaust, CAI, diverter. running around 16 psi. if I get a boost machine and can boost the psi will it hurt the turbo?

Boost is generated by the turbo and no it shouldent hurt the turbo the higher the boost levels the harder it is on your motor. But a 1.8t can handle up to high 20's atleast im pretty sure thats how it is.

Oh, that reminds me, DONT try playin with a boost machine if you DONT have a boost gauge. I've heard people with grand plans of building a boost machine, and asking how to set it for X boost because they don't have a gauge to measure it themselves.

Stock boost on a 225 is 12-14psi I believe, according to some searching on audiworld. Figure a spike just a little higher, then it should settle in somewhere there.

TTSteve.... the boost machine is an adjustable N75 bascially, but you don't remove your stock N75. Check out this thread... pretty good description, and a couple replys down is a nice diagram. You can build these things yourself, or buy one from modshack

OK let me see if I have this right; there is the boost for the turbo and is there also a boost for fuel? How much extra whp do these two produce on a 180hp TT? Also how high can I go on both boost?

oh yea if I get a GT2X turbo put on I get extra boost at the turbo right? Well will that hurt the engine too?
