Default Need Help on Pricing

I need help negotiating the price of a TT for sale. The car is a 2000 TT 180 Quattro Coupe. It is blue with blue leather. It has 80k miles and has the timing belt and other necessary maintenance for its mileage done. The seller is asking $14,500 for it. On NADA, KBB, and Edmunds, this price is off by over $2,000. He claims that those prices are not accurate, but I disagree. What amount is this car actually worth?

Thanks

I'd find a 225 for that price instead, buy it,then drive up to the dealership and tell him KBB was right on the one you bought.

$15k for a 2000 180 with close too 100k miles is NOT a good price.

I bought my 2003 225 Quattro with 59k miles for $17.5k.

Think about it... 225, 3 years newer 20k miles less for $2500
I Drove 4 hours each way (twice) to get my car. It was worth it.
If you have to go a littleout of your wayto find one, Do it.

The only thing that car has going for it is the maintenance record.
I'd forget about it

$13k is about all you should pay for that.

I almost bought a 180 FWD here in queens, ny.

It was only $9500 105k miles or something like that.

Look around. They can be found fairly easily.

use autotrader.com and set up an e-mail alert for the exact car you want options and everything. they will e-mail you whenever a new one is listed that meets your criteria.

Otherwise, craigslist, local papers, and possibly cars.com (although I don't like them much)

There are no good deals on ebay anymore as far as i'm concerned. Most people who list cars on there are greedy and have a reserve that is book value or higher.

Good luck finding the right one.

take your time. If you rush to buy a car, you might regret it 2 or 3 months down the road when a better , faster, and lower milage one appears on the market

The guy is a moron, so I just gave up trying to negotiate the price down. He is so ignorant it is ridiculous because he thinks it is worth over $15k, but he is giving me a "deal" for $14,500---Riiiiiight.

What source did you use to find your car? All of the TTs around Cincinnati, OH can only be found for as low as $12,995.
