Default need help with tires

so I have a lowering kit for my audi tt. I like the way it sits but it kind of still has a gap. Right now I have 225/45/17 gforce kdw's Y rated which are awsome tires. These are worn out after 20k so Im looking for new tires. Can I go with a 235/50/17 to fill that gap? Also the camber is off and I need to get it fixed but I also want to have spacers. My delima is when I put the spacers on and get the camber fixed(ecstuning camber kit) will the 235/50/17's fit?

the 50 in 235/50/17 is an aspect ration of the width. You getting 235/50 tires should be roughly as tall at the 225/45. You wont have any problem running those tires.

I though the 50 was the height of the sidewall? so i was assuming that it would give me that little gap coverage that I needed

They will be 15mm taller. Use this calc to find what size would fit you best

keep in mind, changing your tire size like that is also changing how your speedo reads. Go with a bigger rolling radius, and you'll know why the cops are hassling you for speeding more. You'll be going faster than your gauge says you are.

officer "you should learn how to read you speedo"
you "i can officer! I said it read 63!"
officer "you takin back to me son?!?"
you "no officer, just telling you what it said"
officer "here you go son" hands you ticket for $120 ticket

With Vagcom, and the exact process I don't know, or, just buy the right tires.

I forgot to add, changing your speedo isn't the only difference you'll see. You'll also be changing your odometer reading, and that's permanent.

wrong is wrong. if it reads less miles, that means your going more miles than is displayed, and potentially overshooting PM dates, even if not by much.
