do you have the antenna adapter hooked into a 12V source?

nah, that shuold be fine. I'd contact the manufacturer. It might just be a bad unit, because I just installed a kenwood in a beetle and that thing had decent reception even when neither the antenna or booster were connected. Don't know too much about the HD tuners thou. You might wanna throw a post in the car audio section of the forum. They'll know more than I can tell you.

Did you bypass the bose amp? If you did the TT uses a powered antenna from the bose amp. If you don't have the remote signal going to the bose amp then the antenna will never get power and you will get a crap signal.

Sorry to resurrect this thread. But I too recently changed out my radio. I have the Bose Concert radio. When connecting my new headunit, I also powered the 12v line that goes into the antenna adapter. I didn't bypass the amp and yet my reception is horrible.

I have exactly the same problem with my audi a6 -02. I just bought a Pionner p85bt and bought the 12v antenna adapter but the reception is reeally crappy with alot of noise. If i connect the antenna without the adapter i don't get any signal at all, but if i connect the adapter and plug it in to the remote (+12v) i can here 2 or 3 FM stations, but it sounds really bad when i'm driving the car? The radio worked just fine with the Audi concert OEM system. Any ideas?
