That Bipes guy knows more about these cars than I could ever hope to.
As for hooking up the sub, if I tap into one of the lines to the rear speakers, aren't i basically just adding another rear speaker? I was kinda hoping there would be a spot right at the h/u or something for a sub, so I'm getting clean lows, and not so much the muffled mids.
On the GIAC Q, I think most chips are $400-500, so I think you got the average price. See if they can give you a demo run. Some places can set it up on a trial run, which will expire after a week or so.
4bar FPR probably a good idea.
The engine can take a ton of boost, the problem is in the turbo. It's inefficient at high rpms, and makes more heat than anything, so if you go boosting to the moon, you're probably going to burn up the turbo. 18psi.... ehh, wouldn't go any more, and probably wouldn't driving around trying to see how long I can hold it at high boost, but what the hell, a little kick once in a while can't hurt...
You're box looks good, too bad it didn't match the denim leather a bit better, but still looks nice. good work.

The flash makes it look kinda wierd in the pics. When standing there looking at it its almost perfect, not exact, but good enough. Plus the sun has faded the back seat tops a little over time so the box should fade to match over time given its location. I dont know, im pleased with it.
As for your stereo, you will pull a full range signal from the rear speaker, then use the crossovers and such(on your amp) to tune the frequencies you want. All you're looking for is the signal. With the bose Setup pulling a signal from the headunit is impossible. So youre best bet is pulling off one of the speakers directly. If you dont have the bose then (besides being lucky) things will go much easier.
Thanks for the input on the GIAC. I'll have to call them and see what they can do. A test drive would be sweet. I'm planning on going to the K04(need an FPR eventually anyways...lol) so if the GIAC pushes the stock turbo a little hard its ok, it should work great with the bigger turbo. K04 in the 16-17PSI range with the Nitrous cooling system, should be interesting.
Got my DV in tonight as well. Stock one must have been a bit worn, feels like the car is pushing a little harder. It was also pretty hard to manually manipulate the stock valve its was either really tight or half siezed or something. Either way I want expecting to get any power, just better response. Made out pretty well, or maybe its in my mind.
That door panel link is great. Didnt take much looking around to find out the A4 procedure was no good.

Much thanks AchTTung, I got the front speakers wired up and working. Door panel removal is a breeze when you know where to look. So at least I have more then turbo spool and DV vents to keep me company, not that those noises are unpleasant
. Just gotta ground the Amp and Cap and the subs will be up. I'll have that done in the morning.
All thats left is wiring the rear speakers, and I can worry about that at my liesure. Would be nice to find a way to make the kenwood handle the OEM changer too, but we shall see.
Boost gauge should be here today. I should get a good idea on the general health of the turbo system, looking for 9-10psi right? I also found some intercooler sprayers from DEI's Cryo2 lineup for a reasonable price. I could still make one for less, but judging from the location of the intercooler thats going to be enough of a project.
So I still have lots of fun stuff coming up as funds make themselves available. Gotta get as much in b4 the payments start as I can...lol.

wheelwell probably, but it may depend on what you're doing with it. If you're thinking of modifying/upgrading, don't worry about the stock one, because its probably not going to get you very far.
Front bumper means front end, as just about everything you can imagine goes with it, the wheel well liner is cake compared to it.
You're guess at stock boost is correct, about 10psi.
Have you checked out www.modshack.info yet? Theres some pretty sweet stuff there you might want to incorperate into the plans, you know, before the payments start..... ; )

The only upgrade ive thought to the intercooler system is maybe converting it to the dual setup from the 225 if I can. I dont really see a need for the front mounts on the stock turbo. I'm not really going to push the boost past 14-15 PSI I would imagine on a cold day with the GIAC and other small mods. Have to see what happens.
Boost gauge is running, sitting pretty right at the 10 mark with the occasional 11-12PSI 'spike' lol.
I have checked out modshack, probably going to go with the TTCDA and BAMM from them, still undecided on the BM. I do want to upgrade to a bigger turbo eventually, dont know how the BM will affect that...more reading to do.
Keeping busy. I'll get some fresh pictures up when everything is actually re-assembled.

More pics.

Rolling right along. Dont mind all the check lights, the neon under the amp rack is on the system remote, so the ignition had to be in run. I wish I could get a good pic with the hatch closed, like its supposed to be. I got a rattle can full of some lighter blue, gonna respray the grills and DIN surround to hopefully get a better match. Cant complain to much though, looks cleaner then most installs I see.
Time to start plumbing the nitrous.

Peek-a-boo

My hatch is sold(to the same friend who bought my chevy), so I should be getting the TT chipped soon. Are there any downpipes that will fit the 180 quattro? TTCDA and maybe a BAMM with the 4 bar after I get the turbo timer and N75, either that or a nice twin exhaust, not sure yet.
And my registration came today so no more temp tag. Been a good week so far.
Just looked over and saw I had half a roll of Thermotek Heatwrap...wonder what I could do with that...
