hey I'm new here and want to start modding my TT ASAP! It's a 180HP fwd. I've looked for a cold air intake but i only found one by Injen. Is it any good? can anyone recommend me a better intake system? How would it make the car sound? Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Hmm.. I've seen APR and GIAC chips on web sites and APR seems to give u the most hp and torque. i will with a doubt put a chip in, and will most likely be my 2nd mod but i think i wanna stick with the intake as my first mod just to make the car sound a bit meaner. back to intakes though.. anyone have some advice for me please??

Any open CAI will give the car a more racing sound but only give it a couple of hp. You want one that has a feed to the front of the car where it will get colder air, which is what our car wants and needs for more hp. Its cold out right now so our cars are doing better but in the summer you wil notice less hp. I have the TTDA from Modshack.info and it has a closed and insulated body with tube feeds to the front for colder air. It seems to work pretty good. The biggest gains are going to be the chip and a 2.5 or 3 inch donwpipe and catback (A full exhaust). Those two will give you a good gain but will cost around $1200 ($500 for chip and $700 or so for exhaust).
I have the GIAC and it does really good and a Borla catback with a techtronic downpipe. I have also added the **** and 4 bar FPR from Modshack to open the flow for the turbo. If you do this it might be better to wait untill after you have done the **** and 4 bar FPR so that they can factor that in when they do the chipping. Hope this helps. Ive done mine in steps so the coist wont seem too bad.
