Default New here. few questions

just bought an 01 quattro225 hp. Please forgive my ignorance as I dont really know anything about engines, im more of a computer software guy. But back to my questions. I have 70K on the car and i know the timing belt has never bene looked at. Should i have a mechanic look at it?

Also, i have noticed that Im having a hard time finding CAI for the 225 hp engine. All the intakes that I find are for the 180HP model. ANy suggestions? Thanks!

Yes. The timing belt is rated over 100K miles. It should be replaced however due to the other componets that may fail (water pump failing and seizing). The car is pretty old and age is another factor to consider with the componets. I changed my 01's at 60K due to the year of the car. You are driving a ticking bomb.
